Parent Advisory Committee

What is the Parent Advisory Committee?

The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is a group of parents and caregivers from the community. Its purpose is to provide input to FFRC on designing programs and services that meet the needs of families in northeast Denver and Aurora.

Who is on the PAC?

The PAC will be brand new in fall 2021 and will have all new members! We are looking for community members who are interested in building their network, learning new skills, and advising the programs and direction of Families Forward Resource Center.

What is the time commitment for a PAC member?

PAC members will be expected to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per month by attending monthly PAC and committee meetings, plus additional time for events as needed. At this time, meetings will tentatively be held virtually, but we hope to transition to in-person meetings when the group is ready.

What are the expectations for members?

  • Participate in leadership, teamwork, and advocacy training.

What are the benefits of joining the PAC?

  • Meeting new friends in the community and being able to receive support from them.
  • Helping to influence FFRC programs and events and having an impact on the organization as a whole.
  • Gaining different skills and experiences: communication, leadership, teamwork, etc.
  • Free dinner and childcare during in-person PAC meetings.

How long do members serve on the PAC?

The PAC membership term is two years, from the time of the member’s first meeting.

  • Members are limited to serving for four years; however, if a member is elected to be an officer, they will serve until the end of their officer term.

What are the subcommittee responsibilities?
